Updated Tuesday morning, September 1.......Typhoon Maysak in the western Pacific Ocean is headed toward the southern tip of South Korea.Current sustained winds are 145 mph. While the storm will start weakening within 12 to 24 hours it will still be very strong when it hits Korea.When the storm makes landfall Wednesday morning Louisville time, the forecast winds are 110-115 mph.The strongest typhoon ever to hit South was Meimi in 2003 with winds of 120 mph.When Maysak makes landfall it will be the fourth named storm to hit South Korea this year which would tie a record for most storms in a calendar year.There is another storm in the Pacific. Right now that is heading toward western Japan.
