Gov. Beshear, FEMA tour flood damage in downtown Louisville
As the Ohio River crests, people are coming to the waterfront to witness the historic flooding.
One of those people was Gov. Andy Beshear.
비바카지노 Viva was out at the park as he was touring with Mayor Craig Greenberg.
They were surveying the damage alongside FEMA officials, showing them areas hardest hit by last week's tornadoes and this week's flooding.
"We're... making sure that they see everything and we see everything we're putting together our application right now to try to get individual assistance to our people that have been impacted and then eventually public assistance. And that'll help the city, the county, it will help Frankfort, that's been hit so hard. All that's coming together right now," Beshear told 비바카지노 Viva.
Beshear and others expressed shock at the Great Lawn being underwater.
There's also a boat washed onto the Great Lawn, the banks are littered with debris, including trash, toys, tires, coolers and logs.
You'd need a boat to get up to the foot of the Big Four Bridge.
Although the river has crested, it will take a couple of days for the water to recede.
Greenberg said cleanup efforts will begin soon, with volunteer opportunities available for those who wish to help.
