'Bridlewood Crossing' bringing more affordable housing to south Louisville
More affordable housing is now on its way after a groundbreaking ceremony took place Wednesday morning in south Louisville.
Bridlewood Crossing will create 76 new affordable housing units for adults 55 and older 맥스카지노 28 will be single bedroom units, and 48 will have two bedrooms.
Amenities include community rooms, a fitness center, a dog park, and more.
Tammy Stansbury is the VP of development for the project's co-developer, Woda Cooper Companies. She said rooms will be adaptable to suit anyone's needs.
"In case the person in that unit somehow needs to be in a wheelchair, all of these units will be constructed so that they can be easily turned into a handicapped unit," Stansbury said.
Additionally, this complex is being co-developed by Wellspring, a local nonprofit that provides mental health services to adults in need.
Katharine Dobbins, the CEO of Wellspring, said 23 rooms would be reserved for adults who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless.
"Anytime you're living on very, very limited incomes, it puts you at risk, and most people that we're working with also have disabilities, which also increases the risk of that person becoming homeless. So this project is really, going to be life-saving for the folks who are able to get housing through the project," Dobbins said.
The project is now underway and is expected to be completed by 2026.
