Car wrap scam: Here's how to spot it
The car wrap scam has been around for years, and it is in high circulation once again.
On the surface, it sounds like an easy way to make money.
A viewer sent sister station WGAL a text message they received claiming they could make money by having auto wraps for Hershey chocolate placed on their vehicle.
These vinyl wraps make it appear the car has been painted with ads for a product.
The message says the recipient would be paid $500 a week, just for driving their vehicle around covered with the advertising.
If you agree to this, the scammer sends you a large check. You're told to deposit the check and forward the money to what the scammer claims is an ad agency.
A few days after you deposit the check and send the money, your bank tells you the check did not clear. Now you're on the hook with the bank for the money you sent away.
We contacted Hershey Foods and confirmed the obvious 맥스카지노 this is a scam.
Whenever you get a large check from someone you do not know and they ask you to send part of it somewhere else, it is a scam.
