News We Love: Couple celebrates 80 years of marriage
Bob and Ann Cochran, a couple who now live in Greenville, South Carolina, joyfully marked their 80th wedding anniversary on Dec. 30. Their journey began in the 1940s when they met as high school students in Illinois.
Ann recalled their teenage years fondly, saying, "We went to high school together in Illinois, and I sat in front of him in study hall." Bob remembers Ann as "the prettiest girl at school."

More than eight decades later, they are now surrounded by a large family, including two children, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Reflecting on the enduring nature of their love, their daughter, Kathy Grant, said, "I think they were just really in love. And they have remained that way. I always thought they had such a romantic relationship."
When asked for their secret to a long-lasting marriage, Ann said, "Just love them. But know you have to be tolerant," while Bob added, "Cherish every day and be tolerant of your wife."
The family plans to celebrate this milestone with a special gathering in Greenville.
