Craft lends her gubernatorial campaign $7 million; how other candidates are faring
Former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft has lent her gubernatorial campaign $7 million, giving her the largest war chest of any candidate in both the Republican and Democratic primaries.
The loan aside, Craft continues to perform well in fundraising, gathering $260,805 from donors in the first four months of 2023, according to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.
Attorney General Daniel Cameron outraised her in individual contributions, with $403,520 in his latest report. He has now raised $1.3 million in total.
Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles made up for a lackluster quarter at the end of last year, raising $272,647. Quarles, who has said he focused on helping other Republicans get elected last fall instead of fundraising, has now raised $1.2 million.
No other Republican candidate has cracked the $1 million mark in fundraising.
