Man dead after Highlands shooting, police say
A man is dead following a shooting in the Highlands early Sunday morning.
Just after 3:30 a.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department were called to Bardstown Road near the Baxter Avenue intersection for a report of a shooting.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found a man inside a car who had been shot in the leg.
Emergency medical services took the man to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Bardstown Road.
After being shot, police said the victim managed to get inside his car and make it a short distance away before crashing into another car.
The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital and is being treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
