Parents bemoan second delay in JCPS early childhood program
Eric Broadwater's 4-year-old son, Tristan, made huge strides last year in the JCPS Early Childhood Education program, especially when it came to the child's speech.
But then summer came and speech therapy ended. Now, the school district's busing problems have delayed the start of the early childhood program not once, but twice.
The effect for Tristan has been "humongous."
"This whole summer, he's regressed, but he needs to get back in to get going again with his speech, so he can communicate," Broadwater said.
Broadwater and other parents are now desperate, they say.
After the first delay, they expected early childhood education to resume on Wednesday. Unfortunately, they received an email last week from JCPS telling them the start date had been postponed indefinitely.
비바카지노 Viva News requested an interview with someone from JCPS, but a district spokesperson referred us to that email.
"We are in close communication with the JCPS transportation department, and they are working with us to find a resolution and give us a better timeline for when we can welcome our Early Childhood students to the program," the email read, in part.
