'It's definitely worth it': 2 brothers shovel neighbors driveways for free in Park DuValle
In the heart of Park DuValle, two brothers 맥스카지노 Mason Goodrich and Shane Crowe Jr. 맥스카지노 have taken on the challenge of shoveling icy, snow-covered walkways for their neighbors.
Crowe Jr., a senior at Male High School, and Goodrich, a sophomore at PRP High School, admit it's not easy work. But the boys said it's worth preventing their elderly neighbors from falling or preventing anyone from getting hurt.
Going door to door, Crowe Jr. and Goodrich offer their snow shoveling services for free.
"As I get older, I would hope someone to do it for me for free, or for my sisters, and even for my elderly grand folks," said Crowe Jr. "It warms my heart and makes me feel safe on the inside, knowing I've helped someone."
The inspiration for this selfless act came from a YouTube video, sparking Mason to grab a shovel and enlist his older brother.
Shane recalls, "He said he missed us shoveling snow when we were younger. Plus, this is my last winter before I go off to the military. So, we decided to make it our last ride together."
Even as more snow fell on Friday morning, the brothers continued their mission.
Adria, who lives on South 38th Street, was pleasantly surprised when they offered to shovel her driveway for free. "It's a nice thing, and it's good to see kids still do it," she said.
Mason and Shane have lost count of the driveways, sidewalks, and walkways they've cleared, but they don't mind the hard work.
"It's definitely worth it," they said, with Mason adding, "We're making other people proud."
"At our young age, we need to start leading and do something for our community and really step up," said Crowe Jr.
The brothers said they plan to continue shoveling until the need is no longer.
