Nick Wilt, other LMPD officers shot in the line of duty honored by Mayor Greenberg
Mayor Craig Greenberg honored Officer Nick Wilt, who was injured in the line of duty during the Old National Bank shooting in 2023.

Tuesday morning, a special ceremony recognized Wilt and other Louisville Metro Police officers shot in the line of duty.

Wilt's twin brother, Zack Wilt, gave an update on Nick's recovery. He said Wilt loves exercising and gets up every morning ready to work on his continued recovery.
Zack Wilt said his brother was able to walk all the way from the car to his seat inside the building where the ceremony was taking place.
Officers Brandon Haley, Brendan Koerner, and Laxman Acharya were honored as well.
Haley was shot after he conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Kentucky Street in Sept. 2023.
Koerner and Acharya were shot in November when they were called to the 400 block of Roselane Street on the report of a stolen vehicle.
Major Brian Edelen, who oversees LMPD's First Division, also spoke at the event.
